Behind the scenes in 2013 Anglo Couture Photoshoot

Tampa Bay has some of the best photographers around, that we couldn't wait to work on our newest project. It has come time for Anglo Couture's Photoshoot of our latest collection. This year Anglo Couture worked with the famous Djamel from Djamel Photography to showcase our latest designs and styles. 

Djamel has amazing talent to capture the beauty of life, we couldn't wait to see the photos from the photoshoot. This Saturday, you will be able to see our feature of the 2013 Collection which captures Anglo Couture's new Wedding Gowns detail, design and style.

Greyl's Hotel bridal open house!!!

We were so happy to be a part of Grayl's Bridal Open house.

"Grayl’s Hotel is a 1922 Spanish Mission built historic building featuring an upscale boutique hotel with gorgeous, inviting suites that feel like “your home away from home”. Located right on Beach Drive in downtown St.Pete, overlooking a stunning view of Tampa Bay."

We brought our dress Ophelia, that has a vintage feel to have viewed by guests and photographed by Carrie Wildes.

The private courtyard was accented by gorgeous Fall arrangements from Events in Bloom .

Catering By design served a mouthwatering pumpkin risotto and the Cake Zone decadent deserts.

The night was completed with delicious pumpkin lattes from cafe ala carte.

My Anglo Couture Gown

As tomorrow marks my 5th wedding anniversary, I noticed that I haven't shared any of my wedding photos.

People usually ask me if I designed my own gown and what it looked like.

Althougt at the time I got married, I was in the bridal industry and could have purchased any designer gown, I chose to design my own. I wanted a timeless look and a perfect fit. To this day I absolutely love everything about my gown and my wedding day. I was so proud to wear my gown in front of my family and Friends in my home country.

My gown was strapless with a slight mermaid skirt. The body was made and lined with the finest Ivory silk duchess and had an overlay of white Ponce De Leon lace. To accommodate the Greek Tradition of no baring shoulders in the church, I designed a bolero made with Ponce De Leon lace. I finalised my bridal look with a long sheer veil and diamond chandeliers. Although my wedding gown doesn't have the silver embroidered logo label sewn in, It was definitely an original Anglo Couture Gown.

Bias Cut!!!

When referring to clothing have you heard the term "bias cut"?
Sometimes when I speak with our clients, they I can see the question in their faces.

What is bias cut??

The "bias-cut" is a technique Anglo Couture uses for cutting fabric in a 45 degree angle to get more stretch. The bias or diagonal direction of the fabric, helps to accentuate body lines and curves and drape softly with out the use of darts, that create a more structured look.

I love cutting in bias as the garments turn out more natural and less "stiff".

However the one part that's negative by cutting in bias, is that you loose length. That's why it's not the most ideal cut for longer gowns!

Trunk show favorite wedding gowns!

We just finished another great trunk show in Orlando last weekend.

So we thought to share what our brides were looking for and what were the most favorite wedding dresses!!

Most of the brides that come to our trunk shows are very savvy. They do their research and the reason they come to us is because they love the collection.

Some of our brides have favorite gowns that they specifically come in to try.

The top 3 most popular dresses are Sarah, Aurora, and Ophelia!!

Sarah is a V-neck with trumpet skirt gown. It's embellished with a vintage style swarovski belt. The empire lines accentuate the waist and bust line. Sarah has a very glamorous look!

Aurora is a one shoulder A-line gown, that's fitted trough the hips to show off the waist line. The strap is accented with a beautiful french silk flower. The back is gathered up with pick ups creating small french bustles that end with a multi string detail. Aurora is classic with a modern twist.

Ophelia is a deep V-neck gown with asymmetrical pick ups in the front and back of the skirt. The front pick ups give the illusion that they are held together by a beautiful large silk flower. Ophelia is vintage and romantic.

So there you have it, these are the trunk show favorite gowns so far!

Inside the wedding dress detail!

When we talk about garments we use the phrase" turn it inside out" or " the good side". Most garments especially ready to wear clothes and dresses are lined in a different material that what we see on the outside. Usually this is done to reduce production costs. Sometimes a less expensive silk is used instead.

Here at Anglo Couture we are proud to say that all our wedding gowns are lined in the same silk materials that is on the outside. I want my brides to feel as good as they look and be super comfortable in their Anglo Couture Gown.

A wedding dress should have a flawless fit and be equaly comfortable.

As an added bonus, using the same silk material as lining gives the wedding gown a more defined shape. I would never compromise design, comfort or fit.

We finish our wedding gowns in such a way that sometimes our clients ask which one is the good side.

I just love it when the bride's say " It feels so good against my skin". It makes my day every time!!!
