Anglo Trousseau!!

This past year has been all about birdcage veils.
We love this old/new trend! This small accessorie is becoming a dominate one. The "veil" has many definitions and it's almost exclusively worn by women. Back in the day it was part of a hat or bonnet worn at times of mourning to hide emotions. The wedding veil was worn for a couple of reasons. Different cultures had different ideas. It was worn either to symbolise the brides purity, or to protect her from evil spirits.
Today it's all about style!
The birdcage in particular is glamorous and draws attention to the face. It's accented with Flowers, feathers or even sparkles. Our brides love the look with our gowns and the demand has been overwhelming. That's the reason we decided to introduce Anglo Trousseau.
Anglo Trousseau is a division of Anglo Couture that consists of veils , accessories and everything in between to complete the bridal regalia. The name trousseau comes from the french . A bridal trousseau was stored in a chest that contains bridal linens, shoes and accessories ,that the bride assembles for her marriage.

So here is a small taste of our Anglo Trousseau line coming up!

Wedding Gown trends for 2010!!!

Lauren, Vicky and Nicole

Nicole,Vicky, Lauren

Nicole, and Lauren
We had the opportunity to participate at the last NACE meeting program! Our own Vicky Anglo shared wedding gown trends for 2010.

1. Sleek lines: less is more sheath, mermaid and trumpet gowns are the new trend. Silhouettes that accentuate the figure rather that hide it. Brides want to look more glamorous, vintage and celebrity looking.

2. Softer fabrics: Say good buy to heavy and uncomfortable wedding gowns. Brides want to feel comfortable with out compromising style. Silk chiffon, taffeta and chaurmuse are key fabrics for this year. Which is also breathable and perfect for .

3.Multiple tiers and rouching: Create an illusion and detailing with out having to add embellishments. Usually lighter materials like chiffon, organza and tulle are used to create a dimension. In addition both rouching and tiers create the illusion of being thinner and who doesn't want to look thinner on their wedding day.

4. One shoulder: This is one of Vicky's favorite styles. It's very glamorous and shows of the shoulders and upper arms. The asymmetrical look has always been a staple to to the high fashion world and we love how it's made it's transition to the bridal fashion.

5. Color and demure accents: No more heavy beaded laces and beaded dresses. We will see more Alencon and soft Chantilly laces. Cluster beading instead of all over the gown. And more color details, like sashes, belts and flowers. A pop of color on the gown can design the entire theme of the day.

6. Shorter hem lines: The traditional long gowns are not going anywhere but for the edgier bride shorter hem lines are in. Short in the front, long in the back. Short all around, tee and mini dresses. Brides are not afraid to show a little leg these days and why not. It's the perfect alternative for more casual destination weddings or even to wear it as a second later on the day. The little white dress is becoming a true staple.

7. Pockets: This trend has started around 7 years ago,but it has become a fashion must for the last couple of years. Transitioning from the fashion world to the bridal world. Besides being fashionable it's practical as brides can keep small essentials with them all day long.

8. Accessories: Most dominate trend in accessories has been the cage veils. Accented with flowers, sparkles or even feathers. The cage veil is here to stay and we love it!! It's glamorous vintage and comfortable and a great alternative to girls that don't like long veils. A bride can really bring out her personality by using the right accessories.

9. However!!!One thing to remember is that trends come and go! Vicky's advice is to brides is to put their personality and style into their wedding day regalia. To love how they look and feel, because this is their red carpet moment!!!

A big thanks and a shout out to our Lauren and the Ambassador girls, for helping with everything that night!!!

What a small world!

As a lot of you know I was born and raised in Greece. So my family and I love Greek food!

A couple of weeks ago we had our Orlando trunk show at PlanIt! Boutique and stayed at one of the hotels downtown. The first night we went for dinner at one of the chain restaurant in Winter park. On our way there we passed a Greek restaurant called The Greek Corner. So we said that we will try it the next night. And so we did!!! The best part of the story besides the great food is that the family that owns it are long lost friends from Boston. Needless to say that we ended up staying until after closing hours catching up, nibbling on mezedes and sipping Ouzo!

The Greek Corner has been awarded best of Orlando many times and there has been so many articles about the restaurant in the local papers that they can't even fit them on the walls! Over looking the Ivanhoe lake, the atmosphere is relaxed and Greek music is played all the time in and out! If you have been to Greece and loved it, visiting the Greek corner will bring memories. If you have never been to Greece, the Greek corner will give you a taste of authentic Greek food and atmosphere.

One thing I know is that it will be my destination every time I visit Orlando.

Trunk show favorite wedding gowns!

We just finished another great trunk show in Orlando last weekend.
So we thought to share what our brides were looking for and what were the most favorite wedding dresses!!
Most of the brides that come to our trunk shows are very savvy. They do their research and the reason they come to us is because they love the collection.
Some of our brides have favorite gowns that they specifically come in to try.

The top 3 most popular dresses are Sarah, Aurora, and Ophelia!!
Sarah is a V-neck with trumpet skirt gown. It's embellished with a vintage style swarovski belt. The empire lines accentuate the waist and bust line. Sarah has a very glamorous look!

Aurora is a one shoulder A-line gown, that's fitted trough the hips to show off the waist line. The strap is accented with a beautiful french silk flower. The back is gathered up with pick ups creating small french bustles that end with a multi string detail. Aurora is classic with a modern twist.

Ophelia is a deep V-neck gown with asymmetrical pick ups in the front and back of the skirt. The front pick ups give the illusion that they are held together by a beautiful large silk flower. Ophelia is vintage and romantic.

So there you have it, these are the trunk show favorite gowns so far!
We promise to keep you updated with all the new favorites!!!

The Ritz Ybor bridal expo-rience!!

Although Anglo Couture will be hosting a wedding dress trunk show in Orlando this upcoming weekend, I wanted to share this great Bridal Expo-rience that will be going on here at the Ritz Ybor in Tampa.
Brides-to-be will have the opportunity to meet some of the premier and my favorite wedding vendors of the area.
I had the opportunity to tour the venue and all I can say is WOW. Honestly I have lived in the Tampa bay area for the past five years and I never new about it. It has a historic and vintage feel. Nicole and her Staff are welcoming and easy to work with.

So I recommend to visit their fun event this Sunday!
