When referring to clothing have you heard the term "bias cut"?

What is bias cut??
The "bias-cut" is a technique Anglo Couture uses for cutting fabric in a 45 degree angle to get more stretch. The bias or diagonal direction of the fabric, helps to accentuate body lines and curves and drape softly with out the use of darts, that create a more structured look.

However the one part that's negative by cutting in bias, is that you loose length. That's why it's not the most ideal cut for longer gowns!
